Keyboard Shortcuts

Below is a list of the most common keyboard shortcuts provided.

Agenda

  • Ctrl-Alt-T: Open Add Todo pop-up
  • Ctrl-Alt-F: Search in Agenda (put cursor on search field)
  • Ctrl-Shift-F: Search Files in Filesystem (ripgrep search)
  • Ctrl-Alt-V: Select an Agenda View (puts focus on selector)
  • Ctrl-Alt-P: Toggle between document Preview and Agenda view
  • Ctrl-P: Toggle the Editor panel on and off.
  • Alt-P: Toggle the Agenda panel on and off.
  • Ctrl-Alt-O: Toggle Table view on and off.
  • Alt-Left Arrow: Go backward in Todo history.
  • Alt-Right Arrow: Go forward in Todo history.

Editor

  • Shift-Enter: Copy the current line down, but only the prefix ('**', '- []')
  • Ctrl-I: Increase heading level of selection (add one star to each heading in the selection).
  • Ctrl-Shift-I: Decrease heading level of selection (remove one star from each heading in the selection).
  • Ctrl-P: Toggle the Editor panel on and off.
  • Ctrl-T: When cursor is on a Todo keyword, toggles the state
  • Ctrl-Shift-T: Insert table template
  • Ctrl-Shift-C: Insert source code block
  • Ctrl-.: Insert timestamps at cursor
  • Ctrl-E: Insert Effort to the Todo at cursor
  • Ctrl-Alt-H: Show Shortcut help
  • Ctrl-right: Fold Org Properties
  • Ctrl-left: Unfold Org Properties
  • F2: Toggle Fold at cursor
  • Alt-0/Meta-O: Fold All (Alt-[zero]/Meta-[letter O])
  • Shift-Alt-0/Shift-Meta-O: Unfold All (Shift-Alt-[zero]/Shift-Meta-[letter O])
  • Ctrl-S: Save the current file
  • Ctrl-Shift-S: Save As
  • Ctrl-F: Find in file
  • Ctrl-H: Find next match
  • Ctrl-Shift-H: Find previous match
  • Ctrl-G: Find and Replace
  • Ctrl-N: New File
  • Ctrl-O: Open Existing File
  • Ctrl-Alt-Shift-K: Close File
  • Ctrl-C: Copy Selection
  • Ctrl-X: Cut Selection
  • Ctrl-P: Paste Selection
  • Ctrl-Z: Undo
  • Shift-Ctrl-Z: Redo

Other

  • Ctrl-Tab: Switch File

  • Ctrl-,: Show Settings window
  • Ctrl-Shift-F: Find in files on file system
  • Ctrl/CMD+J: Open the designated journal file/capture file/inbox file. You can define the file in the Settings.
